最近は、YouTubeでこればかり見ている。
これはホントにすごいと思う。
声が割れてシャウトしてる。
ロッドスチュワートみたいなダミ声ならわかるが、ポール・マッカートニーの普段の声質を聞く限り、どこから声が出ているのだろうと疑問に思うほどだ。
時代が下ったバージョンも見ているが、この最初期の「のっぽのサリー」が最高である。
ビートルズの演奏もまた凄い。
これぞ、ロックンロールだと思う。
ギターもうまい。
おすすめは、みんな言うがやっぱり「ヘルタースケルター」に尽きる。
聞いたところによるとドラムもうまいらしい。
こんな超・チョー、大天才が同時代にまだ現存していることに感謝だ。

ヤンキースの試合に観戦に訪れたポール・マッカートニーのことが話題になった。
野球にまったく興味がないイギリス人が、何ゆえに、ヤンキースタジアムに？
それはもう、「アメリカよ、頑張れ」というメッセージに他ならない。
最近でも、自身のコンサートの冒頭に、ウクライナ国旗を掲げて出てきて、ああ、「ヤンキースタジアム」やってるなと思ったものだ。

It’s puzzling that this song hasn’t been more celebrated. The heartfelt emotion and vocalisation is almost painfully exquisite, and affords real insight into the depth of Paul’s despair at the breakup of his relationship with John. This really feels like the anguish to be experienced by the end of a love affair.
この曲がこれほど高く評価されていないのが不思議です。心からの感情と歌い上げは、ほとんど痛々しいほどに美しく、ジョンとの関係が破局したポールの深い絶望を真に垣間見ることができます。まさに、恋の終わりに感じる苦悩そのものだと感じます。
私にとって、この曲は「Yesterday」に匹敵する名曲です。👽💔
